Ushered in the wake of his Mammo LP ‘General Patterns’ in ’25 for Short Span, the Dutch artist returns to his numerical series and Heaven Smile label for a hypnotic batch of techno mutations. All kept satisfyingly trim and tight on the groove but with lots of subtle details in-the-mix, the set plays to the extents of a sound he’s pursued since ’22. ‘Dark Grey’ regulates a rolling, stepping dub techno sound at the fore, and ‘White’ tweaks that gait closer to vintage Convextion or Infiniti, as also found in the 9 min centrepiece of rolling 909 and submerged chords to ‘Camelia (Version)’ deeper in, whilst the rest tends to more loosey-goosey grooves. He gets right into an offset, tracky techno skank on ‘Foil’, and explores coruscating subaquatic depths on ‘Dizzy’ and ‘Nothing’ sure to sate deep end divers.
